The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust has launched a new programme to prevent veteran suicide.
Applications are invited from UK registered charities and statutory organisations, particularly those seeking to collaborate with stakeholders and service providers, to widen the potential reach and benefits of projects and provide a common way which is safe, streamlined, veteran-centred and holistic in nature.
This could include, for example, comprehensive training for staff and volunteers working with vulnerable veterans, or work looking at and addressing the barriers to help-seeking which this group of beneficiaries may face.
The programme aims to drive systemic change and provide long-term support for veterans with poor mental health, their families, and caregivers.
Organisations can apply for a one-year grant of up to £50,000 or a two-year grant of up to £100,000, with the option to apply for enhanced funding available in some cases.
Projects must meet one or more of the following outcomes.
- to support staff who work with vulnerable beneficiaries
- to address mental health wellbeing, help-seeking, and stigma within the Armed Forces community
- to address the needs of under-represented groups.
The closing date for for applications is 12pm on Wednesday 2 October 2024.
Decisions will be given by the end of December 2024.
