Recruiting Volunteers Safely

Download our brief guide to maximising the use of volunteers while limiting the risk of harm.

We need volunteers

We can help you advertise roles and find volunteers, and develop your organisation's Volunteer Management skills and good practice through training, peer support and networking  forums.

Let us know what your organisation needs and how we can help you.  Email volunteer@richmondcvs.org.uk.

Our service is guided by the principles of Greater London Volunteering's Volunteer Management Charter.

Need some quick online support?  For free information and guidance on all aspects of recruiting, managing and retaining volunteers have a look at NCVO KnowHowNonProfit .

How to advertise your volunteer roles

Our service is free of charge and is offered to community groups, charities, non-profit or public sector organisations. We have minimum quality standards that organisations should meet to ensure that volunteers will be safe, supported and benefit from their experience.

Please read our full Terms and Conditions for the use of Simply Connect.

How to manage your volunteers

The updated Dashboard on Simply Connect brings lots of benefits.  It is intuitive to use and has replaced the way the system presented the data in four boxes.  It has new data fields and you’ll be able to see easily how an application is progressing, when a volunteer starts and finishes a role and also monitor volunteer hours.  It will help you to better manage and track your volunteers and can be used as a complete management system with all volunteer recruitment in one place if wished.

A short online tutorial from Simply Connect is available to see how it works.  If you would like a link to view this, please email volunteer@richmondcvs.org.uk.

"The service has helped us recruit some excellent volunteers through both the volunteering database and the annual Volunteer Fair and we find the 1 to 1 support and training programmes really helpful"
