JOB: Communications Assistant, Cooking Up – apply by 3 May

Salary: £14.80 per hour / 20 hours per week

This is a role for a creative and proactive communications professional to help tell this local organisation’s story and grow their online presence.

Cooking Up’s mission is to enhance the health and wellbeing of people by enabling them to cook healthy, tasty food for themselves and their families. They are a charity based in Richmond that delivers community cooking courses at local centres. Their recipes are accessible, affordable and delicious and their sessions are fun, friendly and supported by volunteers.

The Communication Assistant role is essential for creating engaging content that showcases their impact, managing their social media platforms, and keeping their community informed through regular newsletters.

It requires onsite content capture including video, photo and interviews and remote work from home for content editing, posting and admin. As a growing charity with a clear strategy for expansion, this role has significant potential to develop.

You’ll be proficient in creating newsletters, editing and posting content on social media, and updating websites.

A degree in Marketing or Communications is desirable but not essential.

Examples of content creation, personal or professional, will be requested if you are invited to interview.

You will also be required to take part as a cooking class buddy once a month at each site to support the sessions. This involves helping with the set up of the cooking class, working one-to-one with a client to cook a meal, and clearing up at the end of the session.

If you are an organised and proactive individual with a passion for social impact community work, cooking and healthy eating, Cooking Up would love to hear from you!

The position offers a hybrid working arrangement, starting with 50% on-site (Ham, Hampton, and Whitton) and 50% remote work from home. Please note that on-site requirements may increase depending on the needs of the charity.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 3 May 2026 but applications will be reviewed as they are submitted and suitable candidates will be interviewed.
