An organised and enthusiastic coordinator is needed to lead activities and outings that promote inclusion through language.

Learn English at Home (LEAH) is looking for an organised and enthusiastic Activities Coordinator to join their team on a part-time basis.

For over 40 years, LEAH has supported people whose first language is not English to develop the language skills and confidence they need to participate fully in everyday life. Their work helps learners build independence, access essential services and become active members of their local communities.

This role focuses on coordinating a programme of social activities and local trips that give learners valuable opportunities to practise English outside the classroom while building confidence and reducing isolation.

You’ll organise events from planning through to delivery, liaise with venues and participants, manage bookings and communications, maintain accurate records, and support the smooth running of activities.

They are looking for someone with excellent organisational and administrative skills who enjoys working with people from diverse backgrounds. Strong communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities and confidence working independently are all important.

Experience of organising events or community activities would be beneficial but is not essential. A genuine interest in supporting refugees, asylum seekers and other people learning English is key.

This is a part-time position of 14 hours per week spread over two days, offered on a six-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension subject to funding.

The role can be based at LEAH’s office in Kingston or undertaken remotely, providing flexibility alongside regular collaboration with colleagues.
