This grant giving charitable foundation supports small to medium sized charities that improve the quality of life for people in the UK.
The Hedley Foundation particularly supports those from disadvantaged backgrounds by making grants to registered charities for the benefit of young people, disabled people, elderly people, the terminally ill and otherwise disadvantaged people and their carers.
Each year, the Foundation awards around 250 grants.
The average grant award is £5,000. Occasional larger sums are given to charities where high impact can be achieved.
The trustees meet four times per year to review grant applications. The next scheduled meetings are:
- 29 January 2025 (deadline 11 December)
- 9 April 2025 (deadline 26 February)
- 16 July 2025 (deadline 4 June)
- 8 October 2025 (deadline 27 August).
Applications should be received in good time for review meetings, with a minimum of at least 6 weeks beforehand.
