This grant giving charitable foundation supports small to medium sized charities that improve the quality of life for people in the UK.
The Hedley Foundation particularly supports those from disadvantaged backgrounds by making grants to registered charities for the benefit of young people, disabled people, elderly people, the terminally ill and otherwise disadvantaged people and their carers.
Each year, the Foundation awards around 250 grants.
The average grant award is £5,000. Occasional larger sums are given to charities where high impact can be achieved.
The Trustees meet regularly to discuss applications and to make decisions on grants.
If you do not hear anything within four months of submitting an application, you should assume that you have not been successful.
Due to the volume received, they are unable to respond to any queries regarding applications that have been submitted.
Applications should be received in good time for review meetings, with a minimum of at least 6 weeks beforehand.
