FUNDING: Trust for London – rolling grant programme

Grants from Trust for London support work that helps to create a fairer London through achieving the aims laid out in their 2030 Funding Strategy.

The Trust offers grants of around £40,000 to £80,000 per year for up to five years for charitable work in London that addresses economic and social injustice.

The themes under their two key aims, as per their new strategy are:

Economic Justice:

  • decent work
  • improving social security
  • tackling the housing crisis
  • ending the poverty premium

 Social Justice:

  • ending migrant destitution
  • disability justice
  • racial justice.

Unrestricted funding is available for charities working solely to tackle poverty in London.

Project funding is available for discrete and time-bound pieces of work and can be used for project-related costs, including staff salaries and training, travel, venue hire, and a reasonable proportion of overheads.

There is a multi-stage application process beginning with an online eligibility test and first-stage application form. If shortlisted, applicants are invited to complete a full application.

An information webinar video and full guidelines are available on their website, and applicants can also book a short call with a Grant Manager before applying.

Applications are mostly accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year. The Racial Justice and Disability Justice funds operate slightly differently.
