Grants are available to a wide range not-for-profit organisations delivering sports and physical activities to improve the health and wellbeing of Black, Asian and minority ethnic children and young people in England.
BME Youth, through Sport England’s Together Fund, are offering funding of up to £10,000.
The initiative was previously known as the ‘Tackling Inequalities Fund’ and supports voluntary community organisations to recover and emerge from the long-term impacts of Covid-19
This funding is to help people who are most in need of support to get and remain active, particularly those from culturally diverse communities, disabled people, lower socioeconomic groups and people with long term health conditions.
Charities, community groups, local authorities, clubs and other not-for-profit organisations are eligible to apply.
Grants can be used for equipment, coach fees and expenses, hire of facilities, promotion and publicity, staff costs and transport.
The delivery of funded projects is expected to run from when the grant is awarded to 30 September 2023.
Applications will be considered and grants will be awarded on an ongoing, first come first serve basis.
The closing date for applications is 31 March 2023 but the fund will close earlier if all funds are allocated.
