The Henry Smith Charity aims to help people and communities at a time of need and to bring about positive social change.
They have three priority areas of Getting Started, Building Independence and Safer Futures.
Their current funding streams include:
- Together We Begin: up to £150,000 over three years for organisations in areas with high levels of child poverty which provide early years parenting support and promote children’s development through sustained, face-to-face work in the home – the deadline for EOI has closed.
- Shout!: up to £240,000 over four years to support non-statutory advocacy services that help young people speak up, make informed choices, and secure their rights, with a focus on care-experienced young people, LGBT+ young people, and young people with learning disabilities and/or neurodivergences – the deadline for EOI has closed..
- Domestic Abuse Fund: £250,000 over five years for ‘led by and for’ organisations delivering specialist domestic abuse services – the deadline for EOI has closed.
- Holiday Grants: one-off small grants of up to £3,000 for recreational trips and holidays for groups of children aged up to 13 years. Priority is given to the UK’s 20% most deprived areas. If your group isn’t located in a high-deprivation area but works with children facing significant financial or systemic challenges, explain this in your application. Applications for trips between 12 January and 30 April 2026 will close on 19 March 2026. Applications for trips between 1 May and 30 September 2026 are open from 20 March and 19 August 2026.
