The summer small grant programme from Cycling UK is open for applications which support the delivery of cycling events to get people back on their bikes.
The Big Bike Revival programme wants to support organisations across England to deliver a programme of activity to get people who do not cycle on a regular basis to return to cycling, or start as a complete beginner.
It’s particularly aimed at engaging people with social, economic and health needs, those from diverse backgrounds or people facing multiple challenges.
Delivery partners are typically volunteer-led groups, not-for-profit organisations and social enterprises that are rooted in local communities, working to address a range of local needs, and who are experienced in engaging with the programme’s target audience.
The grants of up to £3,500 can be spent on equipment to expand delivery, venue hire for learning events or instructors to lead bike rides. For the full amount, partners are expected to deliver around eight events.
The three pillars of Cycling UK’s FIX-LEARN-RIDE events model represent the types of events that typically encourage people to change their behaviour and cycle more.
A range of downloadable guides and information is available to help plan and manage events.
The closing date for applications is Monday 25 June 2024.
