Call 7 of this funding through Groundwork is open now. The fund from the Mayor of London offers grants for projects which identify opportunities to counter violent extremism in London.
The fund will offer up to £100,000 to organisations delivering community projects in London that:
- Strengthen communities against extremism
- Encourage Londoners to stand up to hate and intolerance
- Safeguard Londoners vulnerable to radicalisation
- Stop the spread of extremist ideologies.
This round welcomes applications from groups who can demonstrate that their proposed project addresses at least one of the following four priority themes:
- Raise awareness: Help Londoners recognise and critically assess intolerant, hateful and extremist messages, empowering them to reject harmful ideologies
- Build resilience: Support at-risk individuals in strengthening their psychosocial resilience against radicalisation
- Promote positive action: Equip Londoners with the confidence and skills to safely challenge intolerance, hate and extremism
- Enhance prevention efforts: Provide training and support for educators, social workers and other frontline practitioners to prevent intolerance, hate and extremism.
There are three tiers of grants, leading to a maximum of £100,000, as follows:
Tier 1 – from £10,000 up to £30,000
Work will take place in at least one or more London boroughs
Tier 2 – Between £30,001 to £50,000
Work will take place in at least three or more London boroughs
Tier 3 – Between £50,001 to £100,000
Work will take place across London in at least eight or more London boroughs and will require at least 50% match funding.
