JOB: Prison Coordinator (for art therapy), SEEN – apply by 30 Apr

Salary: £15.26 per hour / 10 hours per week

A part-time role for someone to deliver art therapy to female prisoners.

SEEN is looking for a part-time Prison Coordinator to deliver the ‘I AM Project’ – an art therapy course designed to help self esteem and self confidence in female offenders at Bronzefield Prison in Ashford.

They are a Christian charity providing unbiased health and relationship support and education, to young people and adults, and those facing any pregnancy loss or crisis. 

The course is designed to equip participants to make and maintain respectful, positive, and healthy relationships free from coercion, violence and intimidation.  They will be able to build an enthusiastic team to help deliver and develop this service.

To apply, you’ll need good communication skills, an understanding of prisoners and their environment, knowledge of art therapy and experience of managing a team and working with volunteers. 

In the role, you will need to promote and run the project, coordinating it with prison and NHS staff employed at Bronzefield, and ensure you work within the prison guidelines at all times.

Typical tasks will involve (but are not limited to):  

  • prepare resources and materials
  • train, manage and supervise volunteers  
  • outcome measures and monitoring.

The successful applicant will be someone who is self-motivated and resourceful, with strong organisational and attention to detail skills, and the ability to work flexibly and multi-task.   

A good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook and ideally PowerPoint, is needed along with basic numerical skills. Confidentiality is also key.
