Expressions of interest for a new Round of the Community Fund are invited now.
The fund uses money generated from the Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy (NCIL) to support projects which address demands placed on an area by new developments.
A total funding pot of £1 million will be shared across three cluster areas which cover the whole borough – East, West, and Ham and Petersham.
The allocation for each area is based on funds which have been collected from developments that have taken place in that particular area.
Applicants can apply for a minimum of £20,000 and requests must not exceed the total amount available for the relevant cluster area.
The Fund must be used to fund the provision, improvement, replacement, operation or maintenance of infrastructure, or anything else that is concerned with addressing the demands that development places on an area.
The awards made in Round 5 were:
- Hampton Pools Trust – improvements to external pedestrian and vehicle access
- Landmarks Arts Centre – improvements to building accessibility and volunteer engagement
- Twickenham Sea Cadets – building improvements
- Whitton Community Association – building improvements
- Barnes Allotments – wheelchair and physical acessibility improvements
