NEWS: New CEO Announced for Richmond CVS

Following the decision of our Director, Kathryn Williamson, to step down this autumn, and a full recruitment process, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Julie Gavin to this key local leadership role from 1 October 2025.

Julie will already be known to many people in the voluntary and community sector.  She has worked for Richmond CVS since 2016, including time as Interim Director when Kathryn was on extended leave.  Julie currently holds the post of Capacity Building Manager and has a wealth of experience in our sector at both national and local level.

“I’m delighted to have been appointed as CEO of Richmond CVS. Having worked alongside so many of our amazing local voluntary and community organisations over the past nine years, I know how important the sector is to our borough and the people who live here. I’m looking forward to working with the team, trustees and partners to continue supporting and championing the local VCSE. I hope to connect or reconnect with many of you in the months ahead”. (Julie Gavin)

Between now and October, work will be undertaken to ensure a smooth pathway into the next era of the organisation’s future.  Our mission is unchanged and we continue to offer the best possible support we can to our network as we congratulate and welcome Julie into her new role.

Commenting on the appointment, Richmond CVS Chair, Gerry Sheridan, said:

“The Board and I were very impressed that our search for the new Leader for Richmond CVS attracted such a strong field of candidates.  And it was with great pleasure that after a rigorous process we were able to reach a decision that Julie Gavin was the best candidate to take on the role of CEO to continue and to develop further the excellent work of Kathryn Williamson.  Please join me in wishing Julie every success and also in appreciating the outstanding contribution of Kathryn.  The effective date is 1 October and until then Julie and Kathryn will be working on handover and transition”
