This 2026 small grants programme has opened and is looking for 23 community and voluntary groups from across the UK that want to bring local people together to transform an urban space by sowing and growing UK native wildflowers and/or plants.

The funding of up to £2,000 will support activities and costs such as seeds, plants, soil, materials, events, workshops, specialist experts, and volunteer costs. Up to £25% of grants can be allocated towards staff costs related to direct delivery of project activities. The grants can also be used to pay for individuals not employed by your organisation and partner organisations to deliver your project activities.

The programme seeks groups which involve other people in their project and create transformations that will benefit their wider community. Projects should aim to improve local biodiversity by transforming an urban space, with a focus on growing and celebrating UK native plants.

Project leaders from the successful groups will be invited to join online meet-ups and training facilitated by Grow Wild. This commitment is approximately 2-3 three hours per month between April-October 2026. Sessions are usually held on weekdays or evenings, at times that work for the majority of those involved. These will be chances to connect, hear about each other’s projects, learn and share experiences.

The closing date for applications is 3pm on Wednesday 4 February 2026.

Successful groups will be notified by email by April 2026.
