Wooden Spoon is the children’s charity of rugby and funds projects that enhance and support the lives of children and young people (under 25) that are disadvantaged physically, mentally or socially.
If your organisation is in the UK or Ireland and has a project that works directly with children and young people, and shares the aim of making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people, it may be eligible for a Wooden Spoon grant.
Funding is usually for £5,000 or more and can be for physical assets or educational or disability sports focused projects.
For the latter, a rugby element is preferred. Grants will be considered for kit and equipment, salaries and administration costs.
It is unlikely that projects of a physical nature under £5,000 in value will have sufficient substance and scale to qualify under their ‘projected life span’ criteria.
A brief online expression of wish form must be completed for an initial assessment.
