Armed Forces charities and other not-for-profit organisations can apply for grants for projects and activities supporting serving armed forces personnel, veterans, operationally qualified seafarers and their immediate families.
Their grants include:
- small grants of up to £5,000 to primarily support small, grassroots groups to flourish in the Armed Forces Community and to deliver impactful community-based activities
- project grants of up to £30,000 for projects lasting up to three years
- salary grants of up to £75,000 over a three-year period.
Their Major Grant Programme for awards above £100,000 is currently closed.
Priority is given to organisations directly involved in the provision of support to those in need, as well as well-run organisations of low to medium wealth.
A range of factors will be considered including the service or item being funded, the number of beneficiaries, the importance of the grant to the applicant organisation, the efficiency of the organisation, need of the beneficiaries and its urgency.
There is no deadline for applications for small grants, this is a rolling programme. One application per quarter may be submitted.
The scheduled application deadlines for all other grants are:
- 30th July 2024 – for a decision early October 2024
- 8th October 2024 – for a decision in December 2024
