This funding is focused on targeted work with high-risk young women and girls aged 11 and 30 who are on the edge of the criminal justice system, with two funding rounds a year.
The Trust operates a Main and a Small Grants Programme, however, the Small Grants have been paused for 2026.
Main Grant applications can be made for between £50,000 and £100,000 for projects with a duration of 18 months to three years.
A maximum of £50,000 per year can be requested and the amount of funding requested must be proportional to the project being undertaken.
This year they are looking for proposals to work with young women and girls who have been in the criminal justice system or who are at a high risk of entering it.
Round 1 funding is for work with girls aged 11-18 in the following areas:
- county lines and gangs
- the care system
- school exclusions.
The Round 1 application window is 21 April to 11 June 2026. Expressions of interest must be submitted by 21 May 2026.
Round 2 funding is to support projects that work with young women aged 17-30 in the following areas:
- young women already in contact with the criminal justice system who need holistic support to help them more away from offending, such as maintaining tenancies, securing and retaining jobs and building secure and healthy family relationships
- pre-release and through the gate support for young women to meet their immediate needs
- support for mothers prior to and after serving a custodial sentence.
The Round 2 application window is 7 September to 5 November 2026. Expressions of interest must be submitted by 15 October 2026.
Applications can only be submitted once a year for each focus areas.
Applicant organisations for both rounds will need to be either ‘led by and for’ women and girls or be able to demonstrate that they are ‘issue experts’ working on one of the abovenamed areas.
There are three stages to the application process. Following the completion of an eligibility checker you may be able to submit a short Expression of Interest. If this demonstrates a close fit to the required criteria, you will be invited to submit an online application that will be reviewed by the Trust’s staff and trustees. Shortlisted applicants will then be asked to host an assessment visit with the Trust’s Director, either online or in person.
Pre-application support to discuss potential applications is offered. Email info@triangletrust.org.uk or call 07716 378564 during the Trust’s office hours.
