FUNDING: Suicide Awareness & Prevention Grants, David Riddell

This is a rolling grants programme providing support to charities with innovative projects who share a vision of reducing deaths by suicide.

The David Riddell Memorial CIO aims to reduce the number of people who take their own lives through education and information, particularly those working in the financial services sector and associated industries.

Grants are made of between £5,000 and £25,000 to charities, charitable incorporated organisations, and community interest companies limited by guarantee to deliver suicide awareness and prevention programmes in the UK.

Preference is given to smaller organisations with an annual income of less than £1 million.

Funding can be used for both project delivery and core costs, including full cost recovery.

There is a two-stage application process beginning with a brief memo (no more than 2 sides of A4 in font of 11 or larger).

Successful first stage applicants will be contacted directly by the grants team to discuss additional information requirements. Depending on the size of the grant, this may involve an assessment visit or video call from one of the trustees.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and, if successful, are typically funded within three months.
