This programme always seeks to support projects which bring communities together and provide sport and activities for local people who may be less physically active.
Applications are invited for projects that focus on sustainable activity while reducing the impact on the environment – for example activity which could involve purchasing locally made equipment to extend capacity in a club or using local community assets to minimise travel.
New projects are supported through National Lottery funding of between £300 and £15,000.
The fund particularly seeks to support projects working with people located in areas of high deprivation and encourage applications that have been developed by the communities they’ll support.
It is open to a wide range of not-for-profit organisations including amateur clubs, registered or unregistered voluntary and community, Community Interest Companies and schools.
Provided your project meets the programme aims, the grants can fund a wide range of costs and items, including coaching, volunteer training, equipment and small building alterations.
If you’ve not applied to Sport England before, you’ll need to register your organisation before starting an application.
Decisions will be given as soon as possible, currently estimated at around three weeks.
The closing date for applications is 31 March 2023.
