The Shaftesbury Young Peoples Trust SYP Trust offers small grants to organisations working with young people, with a preference for ages 11-18, in Greater London.
Their grants support young people under three main themes:
- access to learning and employment
- living a healthy and active life
- giving a voice to their situation and a say in the decisions that impact their lives.
Grants awarded are in the range of £5,000-£10,000 and they operate two funding rounds a year.
Applications can be made by constituted not for profit organisations, including registered charities, CICs and exempt charities, whose work fits with the Trust’s themes. Preference will be giving to smaller community-based organisations (income of up to £400,000) where the majority of beneficiaries are within the Greater London boundary.
They should be for project-based work, ideally where we the Trust is the sole or main funder or where their grant will leverage grants of a similar size from other sources. They can include a contribution to overheads.
The two funding rounds are:
- 1 January to 31 March for June grants
- 1 June to 27 September for December grants.
