FUNDING: Sasha Foundation Mental Health Grants – apply by 1 Oct

Grants are available to support charities that work with mental health issues, in memory of Sasha Love.

The Foundation has a bias towards young people who are suffering from depression and mental health issues or who are confronting drug abuse issues.

It also supports education and healthcare projects and programs in the Third world, with a bias towards education for young women.

Typically grants are awarded of up to £10,000 and are for, at most, 50% of the total budgeted cost of proposals.

The Foundation is particularly keen to help grassroots community groups and small-to-medium-sized voluntary organisations.

It is interested in supporting recipients in maintaining, expanding or providing new services, with an emphasis on quality and effectiveness.

Their funding can be used for running costs (including salaries), projects, equipment or capital developments.

Applicants do not have to be registered charities but the work delivered must be legally charitable and you must have a governing document.

The work must be in an area as defined in the Foundation’s Objects to be eligible and it can be new, continuing or a one-off initiative.

At minimum, the trustees will meet twice a year to consider applications with annual deadlines for applications on 1 April and 1 October.

Award decisions take up to 12 weeks before applicants are advised.
