Voluntary and community organisations can apply now to become beneficiaries of this year’s appeal.
The focus of the fund continues to be children and, in particular, speech and language development for 0-5-year olds.
In 2025, local residents donated over £50,000 which was shared between five charities. The amount awarded to beneficiaries is based on the amount of income raised. Based on previous levels, two organisations are likely to be supported this year, unless there are exceptional circumstances.
Charities already supporting children in the borough, within the priority area, can apply for support for existing programmes of work – for example where there is an increase in demand for services, or funding to continue work where there is an evidenced need and a good track record of delivery. Previously funded organisations can also apply.
Out of borough providers will be considered where they are partnering with an organisation currently operating in the borough. Applications involving out of borough providers are encouraged only where expertise or specialist support within the borough does not currently exist.
Projects can only be funded if they benefit residents of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and demonstrate an established local presence and proven impact. You must be able to start from July 2026 and use the funding within a year of the project start date.
For any questions about the Fund or the application process, email RichmondVoluntaryFund@richmond.gov.uk or call 020 8487 5259.
The closing date to submit expressions of interest is midnight on 5 March 2026.
