Sport England is investing £7 million of National Lottery funding to improve sporting facilities and level up access to community sport in England as part of a legacy from the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
The Places and Spaces Fund is a match funding initiative that is working in partnership with the fundraising platform Crowdfunder.
It will award up to £10,000 to help community sport and physical activity groups to make small-scale facility improvements that will help tackle inactivity in and engage underrepresented groups, such as people on lower incomes and disabled people.
All campaigns should be a celebration of the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, providing information on how the place or space is going to provide a legacy and unite your community.
Projects must be fully completed by 31 December 2023.
Priority will be given to disadvantaged areas and places which have been negatively impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The closing date for applications is 25 August 2023.
