This is a funding programme to connect archives with their local communities, through outreach and engagement activity.
The National Archives provides grants for skills, innovation and engagement in the archives sector.
To align with key moments of national cultural importance, and to connect archives with their communities and the wider public, they have a programme of Engagement Grants. This year, their theme is around the concept of “Place”.
The funding is available to museums and other public bodies, registered charities and not for profit organisations that hold collections in England and Wales.
Applicants are invited to submit proposals for projects up to £5,000 for projects that will engage with new and existing audiences in the places and communities where archives are located.
Eligible costs include exhibitions, events, online or digital engagement, materials, staff time, travel and subsistence, and materials or software.
There is a short application window, opening on Friday 8 December and closing on Friday 26 January 2024.
