FUNDING: Mayor’s Community Weekend – apply 9 – 30 April

Working with National Lottery Community Fund, small grants will be available to deliver events and activities which bring communities and groups together to celebrate London’s resilience and diversity this September.

The Mayor’s Community Weekend will take place from 12 – 14 September 2025.

Grants of £500 to £2,000 will . Groups from all London boroughs can apply to run activities that celebrate and support building strong community relationships. The activity must take place over the weekend of 12 – 14 September 2025.

In 2025, a total of £385,000 is available for projects that:

  • Give people the chance to get involved in their local community and to make a positive difference.
  • Help people feel safer in their local area and increase their sense of belonging and trust.
  • Improve people’s relationships and connections in their local community.
  • Help people to use or improve their local environment and green spaces.
  • Help young Londoners to thrive by giving them the chance to come up with and run activities to celebrate their local community.

Events could include, for example, picnics, litter picks and space-clearing, planting sessions, sports, cultural events, street parties, or activities which young people organise to get to know people of other ages.

The funding can be used for the costs of setting up and running activities, including staffing, insurance, transport, equipment hire, venue hire and volunteer expenses.

They want to fund a mix of groups and communities across London and if more applications are made that can be funded, priority will be given to those with smaller incomes and which have not had this funding before.

The closing date for applications is 10am on Wednesday 9 April 2025.
