FUNDING: Make a Change Fund – register interest now

Young deaf people can apply for small grants to create projects that make positive changes for themselves and other young deaf people across the UK.

The funding, which is made available through the National Deaf Children’s Society, offers up £1,000 to support projects that benefit the lives of deaf young people aged 8 to 25. This could be, for example, improving their local area, addressing an issue they face, or pushing for greater inclusion.

Creative projects involving art, drama, music, film, etc, and projects that tie their ideas in with school projects or youth group activities will also be considered.

Projects must be led by deaf young people but can be a mixture of deaf and hearing young people. There must be a minimum of two young people involved in the project. If the application involves just one young person, applicants should get in touch with the funder to discuss.

A youth worker or an organisation such as a school or youth group must be involved to support and manage the funds.
