Grassroots community youth organisations are being recruited to unite as a London-wide movement to harness the power of sport, youth work and physical activity to enable Young Londoners to lead more active, happy and healthy lives.
London Youth is a charity with a mission to improve the lives of young people in London.
They are offering a total of 90 grants of £1,600 to London Youth members with expertise in working with Young Londoners of colour, as well as those from a disadvantaged background. They want to continue supporting the most underrepresented young Londoners in sport and physical activity – girls and young women, young people with disabilities, LGBTQ+ young people and young people from ethnic minority communities.
They are looking for organisations to deliver 24-30 weeks of sports and physical activity sessions, starting no later than January 2023. The sessions should address local need and contribute towards the outcome areas of physical and emotional wellbeing, skills and knowledge, capacity building and contribution to the community.
Application is by a short online application form. Organisations are encouraged to apply as soon as possible as decisions will be made every Friday on a weekly basis until the closing date of Friday 21 October 2022.
Membership to London Youth gives access to a broad range of benefits including training, network events and a wide range of member only funding.
