FUNDING: London Catalyst Main & Hardship Grants

The London Catalyst Main Grants Programme aims to address factors that influence health outcomes including poverty, housing, education, employment, discrimination and isolation.

They fund registered charity organisations with an income of £500,000 or less, based and operating in London.

The areas of work supported are information and advice in housing, welfare benefits, immigration, debt, and community care, organisations which address isolation, and those whose main beneficiaries are 18 years old or above.

Organisations can apply for grants for unrestricted costs, core costs or project costs (existing or new projects).

For 2026, their annual Main Grants budget is £181,000 and awards will be for 1 to 3 years, with a maximum grant for one year of £10,000.

There is a two-stage application for multi-year funding.

The closing date for applications to this fund is 5pm on 30 September 2026.

Responses are likely to be shared by 17 December 2026.

There is also a Hardship Grants programme to support vulnerable people in emergencies via partner agencies.

Organisations including registered charity organisations, churches, NHS agencies and Local Authority agencies with direct contact with their beneficiaries are eligible to apply for 1-year funding of up to £2,000. These grants can typically be used for food, travel, top-ups for mobile phones, SIM cards, temporary accommodation, personal hygiene and medicine. There are four deadlines throughout the year and a total fund of £50,000 for 2026.

The 2026 deadlines for applications are:

  • 5pm on 16 January
  • 5pm on 16 March
  • 5pm on 30 June
  • 5pm on 30 September.
