FUNDING: LGBT+ Grassroots Fund – apply by 9 Sep

This is a small grants fund for low-income LGBT+ groups and organisations across the UK.

In partnership with the LGBT+ Fund Donor Circle and through funds raised at City for LGBT+ event, the LGBT+ Fund: Grassroots Fund will be distributing a total amount of £28,093,  in the form of small grants of £500 to £2,000.

The fund is designed to strengthen LGBT+ groups and organisations, rather than pay for the direct costs of delivering a specific project. It can fund things that help build capacity, resilience, skills and sustainability – such as training or expert support, leadership development, wellbeing and burnout-prevention support or IT equipment.

Application can be made by UK-based LGBT+ led by and for organisations and groups with a yearly income of £10,000 or less in the last 12 months/financial year.

Applicants must have been in operation for a minimum of 1 year.

Priority will be given to organisations/groups supporting the following intersectional communities of focus which are underserved currently in UK grant-making:

  • Trans, non-binary and/or intersex people
  • D/deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent LGBT+ people
  • LGBTQIA+ women
  • LGBT+ people of faith
  • LGBT+ people of the global majority
  • Older LGBT+ people

The fund also particularly welcomes applications from organisations and groups based in the Devolved Nations and South West, East, and North East areas of the England. These geographic areas are underfunded in LGBT+ grant making currently and are areas without a huge amount of provision for the LGBT+ community.

The closing date for applications is 12 midday on Wednesday 9 September 2026.

Decisions are likely to be communicated by end-November 2026.
