FUNDING: John Lyon’s Charity Refurbishment Fund

Organisations serving young people can apply for one-off grants to refurbish spaces used to deliver their services to young people.

This Fund offers Small Grants of up to £10,000, and Main Grants of up to £35,000 with total project costs not exceeding £100,000.

Applicants must have received funding from John Lyon’s Charity in the past five years and/or are being funded by them at the point of application.

They must also be charities which primarily serve individuals aged up to 25 years.

Priority is given to those with annual turnovers under £500,000.

Supported activities include essential maintenance (eg. rewiring, roof repairs), upgrades to service areas like kitchens and communal spaces, enhancements to activity areas and accessibility improvements.

The Small Grants programme operates on a rolling basis, with no deadlines, and applications are reviewed six times a year.

Main Grant applications can be submitted at any time but there are two two annual meetings when they will be considered. Apply by 1 July for the November meeting, and 1 November for the March meeting.
