If you have a beloved local site in Greater London which you’d like to see restored, you can apply for a grant from this Trust.
Heritage of London Trust (HOLT) is an independent heritage charity set up in 1980 by the Greater London Council to rescue historic buildings and monuments. They work in every London borough, supporting local communities who most need their help.
They identify projects, commission condition surveys, give grants and guide the restoration of sites from beginning to end and have a focus on heritage at risk.
Grants of up to £15,000 are available for the restoration of historic buildings and monuments which are available for public access and enjoyment. Any community organisation, representative of a community organisation or London local authority can apply for a grant. Buildings or monuments do not need to be listed but must be considered of particular historic or architectural interest.
Grant applications are assessed and need to be approved by the Board which meets three times a year.
Successful projects receive a committed grant for a period of three years, subject to grant conditions.
Support has been given to several projects in Richmond upon Thames and neighbouring boroughs.
