FUNDING: Heathrow Comm Trust/Young People – apply by 11 Sep

Round 2 of this funding programme is open for organisations working to support young people in Richmond borough.

You may be working to improve the lives of young people aged up to 24 years old, or have an idea to give young people new skills and self-confidence, get them into training, work or more involved in their community or to increase their resilience.

One-year grants of up to £15,000 for projects with a total cost of up to £60,000 are available for community groups working in Ealing, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Slough, Spelthorne, Richmond, Runnymede, South Bucks, or Windsor & Maidenhead.

The funding is open to both new organisations and those previously funded by Heathrow Community Trust. If a previous application has been rejected with advice to work on the bid and resubmit, this can be at any time. In all other cases you can resubmit with a new project only, even if it is to a different Grant Programme. Local, smaller organisations are prioritised.

You must also demonstrate project outcomes in one of the following theme areas:

• Supporting the local community by creating opportunities for young people up to age 24 to make a positive change to their behaviour about their future (e.g. raised aspirations, improved attitude to learning, increased knowledge of progression opportunities)

• Supporting the local community by creating opportunities for young people up to age 24 to break down barriers to employment through skills development.

• Supporting the local community by creating opportunities for young people up to age 24 to improve their quality of life (e.g. increased resilience, improved mental health).

Applicants are encouraged to have an informal discussion about proposals, prior to submitting applications, in particular which grant stream is most appropriate to apply to and what sorts of things can be funded. This can help you understand the application process and helps the Trust give you the best support it can. Email hct@groundwork.org.uk or call on 01895 839916.

The closing date for applications is 10am on 11 September 2023.

Projects must not start before the the Board decision date of 20 November 2023.
