Richmond Council’s Great Big Green Week takes place on 10 -18 June 2023 and microgrants are available to help with the costs of running related events, activities and workshops as part of the campaign programme.
Microgrants of between £100 and £250 are being offered to community groups, schools, individuals or businesses to run events promoting positive behaviours in the community around climate change and sustainability.
Some example projects could be planting or re-wilding community spaces, repair or re-use initiatives, a sustainable street feast, nature trails, events to chat about climate action, outdoor fitness sessions.
Applications are welcomed from existing groups and from those wanting to use Great Big Green Week to start a new initiative in their community. Applications are particularly welcomed from those helping disadvantaged or minority groups and those establishing new initiatives in underrepresented areas.
Funded activities must take place within Richmond upon Thames during 10 to 18 June or surrounding days and the funding can be used, for example, towards purchasing (climate-friendly) event materials, venue costs or specialist equipment. Other items will also be considered.
The closing date for applications is Tuesday 9 May 2023.
