Just announced, Richmond upon Thames-based groups and organisations can apply now for funding to host events and activities in October that support older residents to get active in their communities.
This local programme offers up to £250 to help organisations arrange small scale, in-person events. Set up in 2021, the fund sits alongside Richmond Council’s annual Full of Life Fair which will take place on 13 October and Silver Sunday/National Day of Older People on 1 October.
Through a month-long programme of events, the aim is to celebrate Richmond borough’s older residents and support their health and wellbeing by connecting them with opportunities in their local area.
Applicants will need to outline how they plan to use the money, and how the event or activity will support wellbeing through getting people moving more, improving social connectivity, or contributing to overall healthier living.
Proposed events should take place around the Full of Life Fair, between 1 October and 31 October 2023. Some suggestions include taster sessions, fun exercise classes, cook-alongs, outdoor activities, trips and practical skills sessions.
The deadline for applications is 10am on Monday 14 August 2023.
Successful applicants will be informed no later than Friday 25 August 2023.
