Apply now to a brand new fund which has been launched to help tackle food waste.
Environmental charity, Hubbub, in partnership with Starbucks, has launched this new £200,000 fund to support innovative ideas to tackle food waste.
The fund welcomes applications from a wide range of officially constituted organisations registered in the UK. This is includes charities, social enterprises, community interest companies, schools, universities, colleges, local authorities, and micro/small businesses with a social purpose.
Grants of up to £40,000 will be offered to back initiatives such as pre-farmgate waste, waste prevention in manufacturing and processing, minimising waste from retailers, and finding creative ways to utilise surplus food in communities or households.
The funding is for new projects, rather than existing, but can be used to scale up initiatives at a testing stage or early concept stage.
The deadline for expressions of interest is 5pm on Friday 21 July 2023.
Full applications must be submitted by 5pm on Friday 22 September 2023.
Winners will be publicly announced by the end of 2023.
Successful applicants are expected to utilise the grant within one year.
