HCT Community / Environment / Young People Grants – open Jan

Heathrow Community Trust has announced its 2026 funding dates. Projects must be in one or more of the local boroughs of Ealing, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Richmond, Runnymede, Spelthorne, Slough, South Bucks, Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.

In 2026, they will offer funding for up to two years for projects applying for £5,000 per year and over.

Organisations may still apply for single-year funding for any amount up to a maximum grant value for one year.

There are three key programmes of Communities Together, Environment and Sustainability, and Projects for Young People.

Communities Together has a small and a large grant programme and is about boosting community spirit in local neighbourhoods. It could, for example, be creating a community garden, starting a local festival, health and fitness initiatives, a project that helps to tackle loneliness in the area, or cleaning up local streets.

Communities Together Small grant applications can be made for up to £5,000 per year for two years. Applications for £4,999 or less must be for one-year only.

There are two funding rounds:

  • Round 1 will open on 2 January and closes on 12 February – decisions will be announced 30 April 2026.
  • Round 2 is to be confirmed.

Communities Together Large provides grants of up to £15,000 per year for up to two years and is open for one round only: 

  • opens on 19 February and closes on 9 April – decision will be announced 25 June 2026.

Environment & Sustainability grants could be for projects working to reduce energy consumption, tackle climate change, boost recycling, create a nature reserve, or something to make your community more sustainable. It offer grants of up to £15,000 per year for up to two years. There are two funding rounds:

  • Round 1 opens on 2 January and closes on 26 February – decisions announced 16 April 2026.
  • Round 2 details to be confirmed.

Projects for Young People grants are for work to improve the lives of young people aged up to 24 years old. Grants are offered for up to £15,000 per year for two years. There are two funding rounds:

  • Round 1 opens on 12 February and close son 26 March – decisions announced on 4 June
  • Round 2 details to be confirmed.

The Trust also operates a funding scheme for Heathrow Airport employees actively involved with local voluntary groups, the Heathrow Active People Initiative.
