Richmond Council has just announced the opportunity for voluntary sector partners to express interest for this project, funded through the VRU MyEnds Partnership, for the Financial Years 2024-25 (until March 2025) and 2025-26 (April 2025 to March 2026).
The funding supports community-led projects targeting violence reduction in identified hotspots within Barnes, South Richmond, Twickenham and Whitton, with a particular focus on interventions aimed at young people under the age of 25.
Organisations are encouraged to offer a variety of diversionary activities and interventions, such as mentoring, therapeutic support, after-school activities, sports-based activities, creative arts, drama and music, training, detached youth engagement etc.
A maximum award of £10,000 is available and the funding can be continued over a two-year period, with a total of £20,000 in the current financial year 2024/25, and £30,164 for 2025/26.
Eligible expenses include project operations, staffing, training, and interventions. The funding cannot cover Police Officer hours or overtime.
The Expression of Interest form is available now. Following submission, shortlisted applicants will be notified to proceed with further checks. Contracts will be finalised shortly after, and regular quarterly reporting will be required.
