Richmond Council has launched a new fund and invites local voluntary sector organisations that either own or lease a cultural or heritage asset in the borough to submit an expression of interest.
The aim of the scheme is to enhance the borough’s cultural and heritage assets to increase footfall and usage of the buildings.
The definition of cultural and heritage assets is broad and would include community centres that offer cultural activities for local people (eg. activity space, talks, presentations, events), and heritage assets (buildings that have some kind of heritage value) which are used by the local community.
The minimum grant available is £50,000 and the maximum is £341,828, to be spent by 31 March 2025. Applications for a lesser amount will be considered but as a lower priority for this fund.
Final funding allocations will be made on the basis of proposals received, their viability and funding availability.
A maximum number of four awards for capital projects is anticipated.
Following expressions of interest, a shortlist will be invited on 11 May to submit a full application by 5 June 2023.
Notification of decisions will be made week commencing 26 June 2023.
