FUNDING: Building Strong Communities Fund – apply by 14 February 2022

The Mayor of London has announced a new £1million Community Grants Fund to help communities recover from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Charities and voluntary organisations with an annual turnover of £200,000 or less can apply for grants of up to £10,000 to support community-led activities and projects that help those most adversely affected by the pandemic, including older and disabled people, Black and Asian communities, and those living on lower incomes.

The funding pot for this round is £350,000 and is made up of micro and small grants:

  • Microgrants of £1,000
  • Microgrants of £1,001 to £5,000
  • Small Grants of £5,001 to £10,000.

The funding could be used for a range of project types such as celebrations and festivals, food growing initiatives, story-telling and cultural activity, intergenerational projects, working with children and young people, or projects supporting mental health needs.

If you have a project idea you would like to discuss before applying for a grant, a limited number of 15 minute support calls can be booked on Wednesday 5 January (10am – 12pm) by emailing bscgrants@rocketsciencelab.co.uk.

Two online information webinars will be held on 11 January 2022 (2pm-3.30pm) and 18 January 2022 (10am-11:30am), 2022. To register for a place, email bscgrants@rocketsciencelab.co.uk.
