FUNDING: Armed Forces Day Events – apply now

Grants are available to local councils, organisations, schools, ex-service organisations and individuals for Armed Forces Day events across the UK.

Application can be made for up to £10,000 of funding.

The funding is provided by the Ministry of Defence and is to help with the cost of events such as tea parties, parades, big band concerts, civil war military re-enactment and live and static demonstrations. The events must be held on or in the weeks around Armed Forces Day, 28 June 2025.

Events must have ‘Armed Forces’ in their title, be relevant to today’s serving Armed Forces, and give free access to members of the ‘Armed Forces Family’.  They cannot be centred on fundraising or recruitment.

The funding could be used, for example, to cover road closures, decorations, flags and banners, newspaper and radio advertisements, security, first aid arrangements or PA and communications systems.

Grants are offered on a match funding basis and can cover up to half the total cost of the event.

To apply for this grant, you must first register your event on the Armed Forces Day website.
