FUNDING: Austin & Hope Pilkington Trust – next deadline 30 Apr

The priorities for the Austin and Hope Pilkington Trust in 2026 are Homelessness and Unpaid Carers.

The Trust awards small grants to registered UK charities that work with communities in the UK. It aims to give grants to those in society who face the greatest challenges and whose opportunities are most limited.

There are four funding rounds for the year:

  • 1 February to 28 February – for grants of £1,000
  • 1 April – 30 April – for grants of £5,000

These round will focus on people experiencing or at risk of homelessness and on projects that provide life skills. Priority will be given to people leaving the armed forces, leaving prison or care.

  • 1 July – 31 July – for grants of £1,000
  • 1 September – 30 September – for grants of £5,000.

These round will focus on unpaid carers and projects that provide therapeutic support, including healthy eating and outdoor activities. Projects must focus exclusively on unpaid adult (18 or over) carers as its beneficiaries, without extending services to other groups.

In 2027, the Trust will focus its priorities on reducing loneliness for 60s and over, and mental health for young carers.

The Trust endeavours to support a diverse range of charities and will consider the diversity of the charities they support.
