Get Expert Volunteers from Richmond & Wandsworth Councils

Richmond and Wandsworth Councils have launched their new volunteering policy which enables their employees to dedicate up to two working days per year as paid time to volunteer within both boroughs. 

The volunteering time can be used flexibly such as volunteering on two consecutive days together, or an hour at a time spread across the year.

The Councils are encouraging their workforce to engage with volunteering opportunities using the new policy through internal communications campaigns which signposts employees to both Richmond and Wandsworth voluntary sector partner sites.

Richmond and Wandsworth Councils employs over 3,500 employees who undertake a vast range of varying job roles.  All their employees have an abundance of skills which voluntary organisations can benefit from.  These skills include, but are not limited, to:

  • report writing
  • policy development
  • bid writing
  • web development
  • data analytics
  • customer services
  • accountancy
  • budget
  • contract management
  • HR advice and consultancy
  • project management
  • strategy development
  • web development
  • IT
  • administration
  • procurement
  • communication
  • plumbing
  • carpentry.
