Small grants are available to support direct person-centred interventions for people aged over 65 years in Hounslow, Kingston and Wandsworth boroughs.
The McCarthy Stone Foundation has a vision of a society where older people are valued, connected and engaged with their communities. Their mission is to help grassroots charities and community groups support older people by engaging the McCarthy Stone Group, people, customers and partners.
In 2024 they hope to award £300,000 in funding across two grant programmes. Both programmes will be aimed at selected areas of high deprivation affecting older people. Their focus is the improvement in quality and quantity of relationships.
The funding available is up to £7,500. There is no minimum but the suggested minimum is £3,000.
Application is open to registered charities, community groups with a constitution or Community Interest Companies working in England, Scotland or Wales with an annual turnover under £250,000.
To apply, you must be working with adults over 65 years of age and providing direct person-centred interventions, eg. befriending or group-based social activity to address loneliness and isolation..
You must also be working in an area of high deprivation affecting older people, as listed in their funding guidance. The boroughs of Hounslow, Kingston upon Thames and Wandsworth are listed.
