This Trust is open for applications now and is offering project funding for up to two years. Projects must be in one or more of the local boroughs of Ealing, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Richmond, Runnymede, Spelthorne, Slough, South Bucks, Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead.
For 2024, Heathrow Community Trust will offer funding for up to two years for projects applying for £5,000 per year and over.
Organisations may still apply for single-year funding for any amount up to a maximum grant value for one year.
There are three key programmes of Communities Together, Environment and Sustainability, and Projects for Young People.
Communities Together has a small and a large grant programme and is about boosting community spirit in local neighbourhoods. It could, for example, be creating a community garden, starting a local festival, health and fitness initiatives, a project that helps to tackle loneliness in the area, or cleaning up local streets.
Communities Together Small grant applications can be made for up to £5,000 per year for two years for projects with a total cost of up to £20,000. Applications for £4,999 or less must be for one-year only.
There are two funding rounds:
- Round 1 opens 3 January – closes 10am on 6 March – projects must not start before the Board decision date of 9 May 2024
- Round 2 opens 1 July – closes 10am on 3 September – projects must not start before the Board decision date of 4 November 2024.
Communities Together Large provides grants of up to £15,000 per year for up to two years and is open for one round only:
- opens 28 March – closes at 10am on 30 May – projects must not start before the board decision date of 29 July 2024.
Environment & Sustainability grants could be for projects working to reduce energy consumption, tackle climate change, boost recycling, create a nature reserve, or something to make your community more sustainable. It offer grants of up to £15,000 per year for up to two years. There are two funding rounds:
- Round 1 opens 15 January – closes 10am on 18 March – projects must not start before 21 May 2024
- Round 2 opens 18 June – closes 10am on 20 August – projects must not start before 23 October 2024.
Projects for Young People grants are for work to improve the lives of young people aged up to 24 years old. Grants are offered for up to £15,000 per year for two years. There are two funding rounds:
- Round 1 opens 5 February – closes 10am on 9 April – projects must not start before 4 July 2024
- Round 2 opens 1 August – closes 10am on 3 October – projects must not start before 4 December 2024.
The Trust also operates a funding scheme for Heathrow Airport employees actively involved with local voluntary groups, the Heathrow Active People Initiative.
