Community groups and organisations across the UK can apply for small grants to help people with Parkinson’s to become and stay active.
The funding of £500 to £3,000 is for new activities, or to develop activities, that encourage people affected by Parkinson’s to participate in physical activity and sport, or increased participation in these areas.
This could be anything fun and enjoyable that encourages people, particularly those from isolated and ethnic communities, to get moving such as a walking group, joining a Parkinson’s boxing class, or playing ball games.
It can be used to cover costs such as equipment, facility hire, maintenance of equipment, coaching fees, and training. Up to 100% of costs are available if required, to a maximum of £3,000.
You will need to contact your local Parkinson’s UK (PUK) staff contact in the first instance. A map with local contacts can be found here.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to complete the free Parkinson’s UK Awareness Course to gain a good understanding of how you can prepare to work with people with Parkinson’s.
This is a rolling programme and applications will be accepted until all of the funding has been allocated.
