This fund, co-funded by the Mayor and Thames Water, is aimed at projects that create and improve access to green space, plant trees and help adapt to climate change.
Funding of between £10,000 and £75,000 is available for projects under this year’s two themes of:
- Green Spaces & Waterways
- Tree Planting.
Grants of between £10,000 – £50,000 are available for community projects across the capital that meet the aims of the fund.
For projects that will create new green spaces, grants of up to £75,000 are available. This is to reflect the higher costs of some of these types of projects, such as depaving and installing sustainable drainage systems.
The funding is open to registered charities, community groups, social and not for profit businesses, tenants and residents’ associations, housing associations and local authorities working with groups or schools.
Projects should take place in, and enhance, publicly accessible spaces including parks, community gardens, housing estates, streets, school playgrounds, waterways and nature reserves.
Funded projects should start from December 2022 and should be completed by December 2023.
The closing date for applications is 5pm on 26 September 2022.
