Lloyds Bank Foundation opened their Racial Equity funding strand in April and are committed to support charities where more than half of the Trustee Board self-identify as belonging to a Black, Asian or minority ethnic community. At least 25% of their overall grants programme will go to charities led by-and-for Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) communities.

The Foundation is offering two-year unrestricted grants of £50,000 alongside development support to help your charities navigate change.

The scope of ‘Minority Ethnic communities’ includes those that have historically experienced marginalisation, racialisation, oppression and prejudice. Therefore, also in scope is work that benefits Jewish communities, Gypsy & Traveller communities and some migrant communities.

This funding is specifically looking to support people BAME communities to overcome 11 complex social issues:

• Addiction and dependency
• Asylum seekers and refugees
• Care leavers
• Domestic abuse
• Homelessness and vulnerably housed
• Learning disabilities
• Mental health
• Offending, prison or community service
• Sexual abuse and exploitation
• Trafficking and modern slavery
• Young parents.

There is no closing date for applications and decisions will be given within four months.
