FUNDING: Lionesses HERe to Play – apply at any time

Grants are available to make football facilities more inclusive, safe and welcoming for women and girls.

Between £1,500 to £25,000 is available to not-for-profit football clubs and organisations to improve grassroots football facilities for women and girls.

This can include local authorities, County FAs, professional club community organisations, registered charities and not-for-profit companies.

Schools, colleges and other educational organisations can also apply if their facilities are available for community use.

The funding can be used for a defined list of physical improvements to facilities, which may include signage, lighting, CCTV, toilets, showers, changing spaces, clubhouses and covered areas.

Grants will not exceed 75% of total project costs, 25% match funding is required.

To be eligible applicants must have a development plan for women’s and girls’ football.

Affiliated clubs must be engaged with The FA’s Equal Game programme by:

  • attending a workshop
  • booking onto one
  • being on a waiting list.

One application per organisation within a 12-month period can be submitted.
