Grassroots organisations in England tackling poverty or hardship can apply for small grants from this fund.
Funding of up to £5,000 is available for groups with an annual income under £250,000.
It can be used flexibly for project costs, core expenses, or both. From staff wages and rent to equipment and training, it is designed to meet your needs.
Your organisation must be working in a local area to tackle the immediate impacts of poverty, or building resilience to poverty and hardship.
Grants can be used for:
- Urgent support – such as foodbanks, shelters, advice services, healthcare outreach
- Long-term solutions- such as employment access, financial resilience, community-led initiatives.
When making decisions on funding, priority will be given to organisations which are delivering in areas that rank highly on the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD). You can check here.
The level of deprivation in the area where your organisation is working will also be taken into account. Those with a higher score on IMD may be given greater priority.
The closing date for applications is 12 noon, Monday 6 October 2025.
